Welcome to Bruning Elementary School’s online community. As part of the Wilmington Community Unit School District 209U, our school is located in the beautiful Kankakee River Valley, just 52 miles south of Chicago. We are fortunate to enjoy both worlds—small town living and easy access to city amenities.
We provide a safe, positive, and caring learning environment for students in preschool, kindergarten, and first grade. We do this best by building partnerships with parents, families, and community members of Wilmington.
We are pleased to share our new website and know that you will find it easy to navigate and packed with useful and timely information. Be sure to visit our calendar page, which includes an awesome feature to synchronize events to your mobile devices.
A Message from Our Principal
Welcome to our website! I am excited about our school year and glad to be here. I enjoy working with the students, staff, and parents.
The bus company's (Illinois Central) contact person is Amy, and the phone number is (815) 476-6300. Please contact Amy or Mrs. Norman if you have any questions or concerns.
We continue to emphasize positive behavior. Students can earn PAWS tickets, weekly rewards, and quarterly rewards for their good behavior. Students can earn these prizes individually and as a class.
Each month, at the end of the month, I publicize the Bruning Buzz. This newsletter is a wonderful source of news, events, and dates. With the Buzz comes a calendar of events for Bruning School. Look for it on the last day of the month.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. The easiest and quickest way to make contact is email. You may also reach me at (815) 926-1683. I always look forward to working with our parents!
Sincerely,
Beth Norman
